More Substance Abuse Prevention in 2022
2021 was an interesting year. Due to the COVID pandemic I have not been able to do as many anti-drug speeches as I would have liked. In 2022 I will be able to do many more, and I’ve started working at a small youth center in Costa Mesa. I’ll be working with kids who are dealing with mental illness and I’ll be doing substance abuse prevention work, as well as covering other topics that kids need help with.
The pandemic has resulted in a great many difficulties for kids who were pulled out of school for many months, then put back in school, then out again, then in again. Social anxiety, depression, and suicide attempts seem to be way up. I’m looking forward to devoting my professional efforts to the emerging adolescent mental health crisis.
